In this live online class, I’ll show you how to improvisationally piece alphabet letters from fabric strips of different sizes. We’ll start with the easier letters on Day 1, and on Day 2 I’ll demonstrate the trickier letters.
But the fun doesn’t stop with individual letters! We’ll also explore how to combine letters into words and phrases to create a quilt with a powerful message—one that says exactly what YOU want to say in fabric.

Cotton Fabric
Bring a selection of cotton fabrics, commercial tone on tone or hand dyed.
Choose a color palette for your lettering and a strongly contrasting color palette for the background.
Include several different colors and values within both your lettering and background fabrics.
Variety is key! Having multiple shades, tones, and colors will give you more options for creating interesting, dynamic letters and compositions.
